Bees

In the UK, there are approximately 200 different species of bees, 25 of which are bumblebees. Here are a few of the most typical. Different treatment approaches can be necessary for certain bee species. Note that unless there is a substantial threat to human life, we will not apply bee treatments.

Contrary to popular belief, bees are not protected and can be treated, but because they are in risk of extinction, we always advise against using eradication as a last resort.

 Give them some space

If left alone and undisturbed, bees pose no threat to your property and pose no threat to you personally. The majority of bees will leave the nesting place after the summer and not come back the following year. A colony’s activity will already be about to naturally drop by the time it becomes apparent. Typically, colonies that were established in the spring begin to naturally diminish by late July, if not earlier. Since their presence is actually advantageous for gardeners and their crop, bee nests should always be left alone, if at all possible.
