DBS Checked Pest Control Technician

Our technician has a DBS criminal record check, issued through the Disclosure and Barring Service. What a DBS check is and what it shows.

What is a DBS check?

A DBS check is a criminal record check issued by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), the government body that helps employers make safer recruitment decisions. DBS processes and issues criminal record checks for England, Wales, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man.

Our technician is DBS checked.

What the different checks show

There are four levels of DBS check:

The results are issued directly to the person who was checked.

What it means for you

Pest control often means letting someone into your home, garden, loft or business premises, sometimes when children, elderly relatives or tenants are there. A DBS check gives you extra reassurance about who you are letting in.

It is important to understand what a DBS check is and isn’t. A DBS check has no official expiry date, and the information on it is only accurate at the time the check was carried out. It is a point-in-time check, not continuous monitoring.

How to check

There is no public online search for DBS certificates, by design, as they are personal records. If you would like to see our DBS certificate, ask us and we will show it to you when we visit. You can read more about DBS at gov.uk/dbs.
