RSPH Level 2 Award in Pest Management

MSE Pest Control’s technician holds the RSPH Level 2 Award in Pest Management, a regulated qualification for pest technicians. What it covers and why it matters.

What is the RSPH Level 2 Award?

The RSPH Level 2 Award in Pest Management is an industry-recognised entry qualification for pest technicians, awarded by the Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH). It is regulated by Ofqual and CCEA, the qualifications regulators for England and Northern Ireland. The technician who carries out MSE Pest Control’s treatments holds this qualification.

What does it involve?

The qualification is designed to give a technician the skills and knowledge to manage a wide range of pests safely and legally, working alone or as part of a team. It covers:

It takes a total of 105 hours to complete, including 54 hours of guided learning, followed by three written examinations. It is also approved by the Campaign for Responsible Rodenticide Use (CRRU) as a qualification for buying professional rodenticides.

What it means for you

Pest control is about protecting health as much as getting rid of a nuisance. A technician with this qualification has been formally trained and examined in how pests behave, how to control them effectively and how to do it without putting your family, pets, customers or the environment at risk. It is the qualification many professional pest control bodies expect technicians to hold.

How to check

You can read about the qualification on the RSPH website at rsph.org.uk (RSPH Level 2 Award). RSPH doesn’t publish a public list of people who hold its qualifications, so the simplest way to check is to ask us. We are always happy to show you the certificate.
