NPTA Member: National Pest Technicians Association

MSE Pest Control Ltd is an NPTA Servicing Member. What National Pest Technicians Association membership means and how to check it.

What is the NPTA?

The National Pest Technicians Association (NPTA) is one of the UK’s most active pest control trade bodies. It is a member-led association representing technicians, small businesses and large organisations working to protect public health and the environment, and it provides industry training, certified CPD schemes and technical support to its members.

What does membership require?

NPTA sets out clear conditions for pest control servicing companies:

every technician must be registered in a CRRU-approved CPD (continuing professional development) scheme before membership is accepted, and failing to meet the yearly CPD points can lead to membership being cancelled
companies must send in training certificates for everyone carrying out pest control
companies must carry relevant public liability insurance, plus employers' liability and products liability insurance where appropriate
members agree to the NPTA Code of Practice, which sets standards of conduct for the advice and services they give involving professional-use pesticides

Only the company named on the membership form may use the NPTA name or logo, and it has to be removed if membership ends.

What it means for you

An NPTA member is trained, insured and keeping their knowledge up to date every year, and has signed up to a published code of conduct. If you are comparing pest controllers, membership of a recognised trade body is a simple way to tell a professional business from an unregulated one.

How to check

NPTA has a public search tool for finding members in your area at npta.org.uk/find-a-pest-controller. Only members who choose to be listed appear there, so if you can’t find us, just ask and we will happily show you our current membership certificate.
